About Me

Postpartum with my second son became challenging in ways I couldn't have imagined and I was not prepared. At 10 days old my newborn developed a fever and he was taken by helicopter to the nearest children's hospital NICU where he was treated for 10 days by IV antibiotics for bacterial pneumonia. It was an experience filled with fear, uncertainty, and deep heartache. My family and I stayed at the Ronald McDonald House, doing our best to keep life stable for my 1.5-year-old while anxiously waiting for my newborn to come home safely.
That experience triggered postpartum anxiety for me, manifesting in ways I hadn’t expected. I found myself overwhelmed, irritable—even feeling rage at times. I remember thinking I was failing with both boys and even resenting my toddler for his developmentally appropriate behavior. It took time, support, and self-compassion to recognize the unrealistic expectations I had placed on myself and to begin making the mental shifts I needed to heal. I also remember how significant it would have been to have someone supporting me who not only understood perinatal mental health but also shared my cultural background and lived experience.
Motherhood is profound, beautiful, and, at times, incredibly hard. I'm here to help women make the necessary shifts to tap into their resilience. I strongly believe no one should do this alone.
I’m Jacqueline Berrios, a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over a decade of experience in mental health and a dedicated focus on perinatal mental health since 2000. I'm a certified postpartum coach, mother of two toddler boys, and a proud first-generation Latina living in the Hi-Desert of California. Since 2013, I have provided bilingual therapy and mental health services to adults and families in the San Francisco Bay Area, with a focus on serving BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. My career has always been driven by a mission to reduce stigma and increase access to quality mental health care. I offered therapy in primary care settings at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and in 2020 this work expanded to include Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Perinatal Specialties. My work included treating depression, anxiety, traumatic births, pregnancy loss, and supporting mothers with infants in the NICU. Since then I've worked exclusively remotely and continued supporting mom's, LGBTQ+, BIPOC and a broader client base.
